The Day of Divine Fasting and Devotion 🙏
Ekadashi (एकादशी) is the 11th day of both the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) and Krishna Paksha (waning moon) in the Hindu lunar calendar. It is one of the most spiritually significant days in Sanatan Dharma, observed twice a month and dedicated especially to Lord Vishnu.
Fasting (Vrat): Devotees observe a partial or full-day fast, breaking it only after sighting the Moon and offering prayers.
Ganesha Puja: Special pujas are performed in the evening with flowers, durva grass, modaks (sweet dumplings), and chants like the Sankashtnashana Ganapati Stotra.
Moon Sighting: The fast is broken after seeing the Moon and offering it water (Arghya), along with Ganesha mantra chanting.
Reading Sankashti Vrata Katha (the story of the day) is considered highly beneficial.
Removes obstacles and negativity from life
Brings mental clarity, wisdom, and focus
Helps in fulfilling desires and wishes
Aids in progress in career, studies, and personal life
Strengthens your bond with Lord Ganesha and opens the path to spiritual growth
Sankashti Chaturthi is a monthly opportunity to pause, reflect, and reset with the divine blessings of Vighnaharta Ganesha. Observing it with devotion invites grace, guidance, and grounding in our everyday lives.
